Week of May 21st
Bring in your laptops this week to work on your novel study reading task.
Below is the checklist you and your partner will follow to complete a successful Prezi, Pixie or PPT:
- did we use a combination of text, images and video?
- did we include a brief description of the author, her works and literature genre?
- did we include 2 key characters from the Capitol and the Districts with supporting personality traits?
- did we include 1 key dramatic scene with corresponding image and caption from text?
- did we include 1 key action scene with corresponding image and caption from text?
- did we include our personal opinions, likes, dislikes about both the story and its characters to promote the novel to someone who is unfamiliar with it?

Thank you Mr. Di Croce's 5/6's!
On my last day here I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you all for having me in your classroom for my teaching placement. I had a great time here and learned so much from everyone. I will take this experience with me throughout my educational career. A special thank you to Mr. Di Croce for being a great mentor who I was so fortunate to be placed with.

- Get ready for our bridge building competition - tomorrow we'll determine which team's bridge supports the most weight! Check back for pictures of the day's festivities;

Working cooperatively with a partner, your task is to create a PREZI or a PIXIE or a PPT that promotes reading The Hunger Games to others unfamiliar with the novel.
Your presentation will use a combination of text, images and video and will include the following components:

Reading Task:
Working cooperatively with a partner, your task is to create a PREZI or a PIXIE or a PPT that promotes reading The Hunger Games to others unfamiliar with the novel.
Your presentation will use a combination of text, images and video and will include the following components:
- brief description of author, her works & novel genre
- key characters from both Capitol and Districts & their personality traits
- a dramatic scene (suspensful, thrilling, plot turn/twist) with text quote
- a memorable action scene with text quote
- your personal opinions, likes, dislikes, or overall comments about the story and its characters
- a theme or lesson to be learned
Gr.5s have your math tests signed by a parent.
