Complete carpet tessellation in geometer's sketchpad (tomorrow we color print then skype our samples with St. Maria Goretti who challenged us to this task) begin with 1 square design, select all line segments and all points, translate 180 degrees (fixed angle) and an appropriate fixed distance (between 2-7) to create 2 side-by-side squares, select all line segments and all points again, translate 90 degrees (fixed angle) to create another 2 side-by-side squares directly above these ones for a total now of 4, copy/paste into Paint and use primary colors to fill, save as jpeg, copy/paste jpeg into PowerPoint and stretch to fit whole page ready to print in color.
