• while in search for mom set off to Craftsbury, Aaron meets Ragman, suspicious character takes him to foreign place, Half-a-Moon Inn and leaves him there with owner Ms Grackle
• Grackle learns Aaron is mute and lost but, like Ragman, doesn't seem to help him
• Grackle is vile, despicable, manipulative, utterly dishonest, violent, thief/grifter conartist using inn as a front to steal from guests
• Grackle has powers to peer into peoples' dreams and read their thoughts
• She imprisons Aaron and puts him to work for her as her "silent" partner in crime; she takes advantage of an innocent child for her personal gain.
