Now that Bud is solo, he believes in “having the last laugh” and the upper hand in all situations – this is the result of his defensive nature; he also has a strong sense of fairness and social justice.  Bud is Bud because of his no-nonsense, strong minded Momma – she has instilled these values in him every time she squeezed his arm and got him to listen to her.  Like a flower-to-be, Momma wants Bud to reach his full potential.
