Brian has undergone an extreme mental transformation. He has become a different person now that he is officially in "survival" mode. He has experienced depression, negative thoughts and attempted suicide. Now he has chosen hope, self-confidence, self-motivation, and resiliency. Through a process of trial and error, he has conditioned himself to become resourceful, creative and self-sufficient. He evaluates and re-evaluates his survival tactics to ensure they are sound. He has adjusted to his environment and his senses have become heightened, enabling him to better focus on his survival plans. Brian has had to "shed" his old skin and "update" himself in order to live. Brian has become a product of his environment and has learned to hunt, fish and gather to be successful.
