her mother go to the prison to bail out the father / husband. The guards beat
Parvana and her mother with sticks.

What
does the author want to convey (tell us) by showing that the soldiers beat up
Parvana, Nooria and her mother?

is important about Parvana, as a woman, having the courage to do what she did?
