Novel Study: Bud, Not Buddy
What does Bud do? What do these actions say about him as
a person?
From personal experience, Bud has formulated rules or
life skills that help him deal with and overcome challenging situations. From this, we can learn that he is a clever,
resourceful, and highly observant person.
Bud learns important lessons from life experiences, takes note of the
outcomes, and keeps this at the back of his mind for the next time he is faced with
a similar situation. He makes me think
of a strategist who analyzes a problem and looks for different possible
solutions that will benefit him. Bud is
about self-preservation and knowing how not to be manipulated, as shown by his rule about ensuring adults can't hold anything over your head or take something you love away from you.
