Wrap up your Geography Movement Prezi which is due Monday Nov.25th
(your choice of human or natural movements i.e. electronic, how we commute in our city, transportation of goods/freight around the world, tsunami/earthquake/tornado/landslide, types of winds, water erosion etc.)  e-mail link to your prezi stsimongr7@gmail.com

Complete moonlight tree silhouette art task (navy, purple, white, black) mount onto purple construction paper, trim and staple neatly onto back wall where there is available space and/or onto black empty bulletin board.  Same thing with Mark Crilley mouth/lips task, since only 2/24 are on display from last week.

Complete & submit math task from yesterday.  Place under star paper weight on my desk.  Any questions, see your substitute, they have correction sheet.  Next, complete Test Yourself from math workbook pg.22 #1-8 pg.23 #10-11.   Complete on grid paper (not in workbook) showing all your thinking, not just answer.  To be submitted Monday.

Our final thoughts:

Good collaboration involves:

-teamwork, cooperation, communication

-working towards a common goal

-do your part, do your share

-working together in groups, brainstorming, problem-solving

-time management

-respect and participation

-listening to and expanding ideas of everyone

-encourages new thinking, new ideas and more importantly CREATIVITY

-bringing different skills to the table

-trusting and depending on each other

Not-so-good collaboration involves:
-there is no "I" in team
-think about everyone, don't be selfish
-not having equal contributions; uncooperative
-not accepting, excluding ideas of others
-arguing, talking over each other
-not giving each other credit, not encouraging others

Numeracy: Problem Of The Week
Factors - Order of Operations - Variables

Two different positive whole numbers, a and b, are both greater than 1. The second number, b, is larger than the 1st number. After the second number is increased by 1, it is multiplied by 1st number. The resulting product is 260. This information can be represented by the equation a x (b + 1) = 260.
Determine all possible pairs of numbers that satisfy the equation.

Work collaboratively in a group of 4 to solve the problem above.  Show all your thinking on chart paper using a combination of diagrams, numbers, calucations, and/or words.  Be prepared to share your problem-solving strategies.  

Remember to:

1. Understand the problem

3. Carry out the strategy
4. Reflect on your approach

Well done to everyone that participated in our first math Skype with St. Maria Goretti's grade 7 class - great job!  You all demonstrated excellent collaboration and communication skills.  We look forward to engaging in another problem of the week very soon.  We also thank our Principal, Mr. Boccia, for participating in this new experience.
