Kim, Ana, Wendell follow-up

 

By deciding to plant lima beans in her neighborhood’s vacant lot full of garbage, what do you think Kim hopes to show her late Vietnamese father?  What’s your opinion of this act?

 

Ana, a Romanian immigrant, one of the original tenants in building, talks about the many different ethnicities that have come and gone and of the many changes that have taken place over the years in the neighborhood.  What’s your opinion of her watchful eye over the community, her suspiciousness of others and of the realization she made?

 

After his son was shot and his wife was involved in a car accident, what does Wendell (former Kentucky farmer turned school caretaker) come to realize and do?  What’s your opinion of the idea that it was a child having a positive effect on an adult in this situation?
